Dingo – Charles de Lint

Dingo is a quick read, diverting YA material.  Not awesome, but it executes its goals well.

The characters are solidly teenager – no ageless truths on display, really.

Good narrative voice, and it incorporates the mythology very plausibly – no painful whacks by the baton of exposition.

I’d had no idea that de Lint wrote so much YA material.  Makes me feel old 😦

Fine for the kiddies, though I don’t know if the lads will actually get into it.  Perhaps we’ll have a guest-blogger comment on it for us later.
