The Hunger Games – Suzanne Collins

Oh, dear, it’s young adult

But really, it’s very good.  The Hunger Games was recommended by the resident panel of junior readers… and so it swept through the whole family without too much delay.

It’s violent (wb characterized it as a bloodbath… or perhaps that was the sequel).

Unlike the Lord of the Flies, the worrying parts of society are fully on display… and forced onto the young generation in a Running-Man sort of way.

There’s a sequel called Catching Fire. Also good, but not 100% as gripping as book one.

Nonetheless, looking forward to the third book, as is my entire family.
