This is book two in the Eve Dallas series, and it includes the introduction of Peabody as a beat cop, as well as ending with Roarke’s proposal.
I do think I’d read this book before, a year or three ago, but I did not remember who-dunnit.
The series of murders begins with a prosecutor, then a TV star – throats cut. Red herrings abound.
However, I found the denouement to be a little on the flimsy side, ultimately. Specifically the bad guy was provided with his motivation a little too neatly it felt. This one probably would not stand up to a further re-read.
