Jane Bites Back – Michael Thomas Ford

The graves of Jane Austen's mother and sister ...

Jane's not there: Graves of Jane Austen's mother and sister

Jane Bites Back is a book which ought to be difficult to categorize.  However, Austen-esque is close to being a genre of its own, and so Michael Thomas Ford’s book about Jane Austen as modern day vampire works nicely as a spoof.

I freely admit I bought this book because of the title, the cover, and the tag-line:

It is a truth commonly acknowledged that Jane Austen is still among us… as a vampire (or words to that effect).

Absolutely frivolous book, and it seemed to take about 45 minutes to read the whole thing.  Yet, it was fun.
