Really, you must applaud a title like Doppelgangster by Laura Resnick. The cover art is very Buffy-esque, with a cute chick toting a whopping big ceremonial battle axe.
As with Werewolf Smackdown, though, the book itself does not live up to the fun title.
This is book one in an intended series it seems. Our heroine is a waitress-actress in NYC, with the unfortunate tendency to get involved in supernatural troubles. Someone is killing off mob people with doppelgaengers, and after being an eye-witness to one of the ‘hits’ she takes it on herself to solve the crimes.
Meh. Fun enough while it lasted, but I won’t search out more books by this author deliberately.
